New Double CD - 'The Night Is ....Young'
The Young Wolfe Tones
are Irish music tradition the way it's meant to be. Derek Warfield has
enjoyed a lifetime of success as a founding member of the legendary Wolfe
Tones and as a solo artist. His love of musical tradition is such that
a way to pass it on was in order. So a new day dawns on The Wolfe Tones
legend, The Young Wolfe Tones. Assembled to continue the legacy of a legend
are some of Ireland's finest young musicians. Singer / songwriter Padraig
Allen hales from a famous musical family himself and as front man for the
popular Tipperary Celtic rock band The Whole Shabang is no stranger to
the American tour circuit having played all major US festival venues. Multi
instrumentalist Damaris Woods has won more Irish musical awards than even
she can count. Much sought after as a teacher, studio and tour musician,
audiences are left spell bound by her amazing musicianship. She is duly
recognized as one of the best banjo players of our time. Jim Woods, brother
to Damaris, has a host of awards himself and plays a sweet accordion. He
is no stranger to television in Ireland, England, Canada and America, he
has toured with a who's who of Irish acts, Altan, Andy Cooney, Liz Doherty
and he has even shared the stage with Jethro Tull. This new double CD set
is a combination of classic Irish crowd pleasers and a showcase of pure
musical talent. It is tradition being “handed on” as the Irish say,
but most of all it is just plain fun.
